Harnessing the ripstop technology this Horseware Ireland Amigo Ripstop Hoody rug offers robust protection with its durable and closely woven fabric. Using a strong 600D polyester ripstop outer, the ripstop weave is constructed with reinforced cross-sections that help prevent the growth of rips and tears forming on the body of the rug.
Incorporating some of Horseware Ireland’s innovative features, the Amigo Ripstop Hoody is breathable, lightweight, and offers 90% UV protection from top to tail. It comes with an integrated ‘Hoody’ style neck cover with ear holes that is attached to the body of the rug and an elasticated jaw strap which is ensuring a close contact fit.
The Amigo Ripstop Hoody features a lightweight, patented disc front closure including Surefit Neck Design for more comfort and to avoid rubs. Liner loops make this style compatible with our Horseware Ireland Fly Rug liner. A Single leg arch & 2 cross surcingles offer freedom of movement and a secure fit. The extended tail flap provides maximum coverage and protection. An elasticated tail cord keeps the rug in place and avoids slippage.
The light Azure Blue, Strong Blue & Silver colourway also reflects the sunlight.

How to measure
Horses of the same height at the wither come in many shapes and sizes, so take your horse's measurements:
- Using a soft measuring tape, measure from (A), the centre of the chest, across the point of the shoulder to (B), the centre of the tail.
- Take 10cm (4 inches) off that measurement and find your horse's size in the table below.
Every horse is different, so the tables are a guide only.

Which rug style suits my horse?
- Straight front: for an average build, a classic neck cut, or a V-Front for extra comfort.
- V-Front: for a deep-shouldered, narrow horse, a Surefit design with V-Front closure.
- Disc front: for a narrow-chested horse, a rug with the Disc Front closure.
- XL: for a deep-shouldered horse with a deep neck and wide build. The XL cut is 20% deeper in the neck and sides.
- Optimo: the same broad build can also go for Optimo rugs, which give the most freedom of movement.
- Wug: for high-withered, narrow horses, the Wug® reduces wither pressure. For very narrow or young horses, Wug® or All-In-One designs help the rug fit and stop it slipping.
